SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

The Program Coordinator operates and performs management duties of the Pathway of Hope Recovery Center.  The coordinator organizes and oversees tasks and responsibilities of staff to ensure adequate operations of the Center and provides oversight of program activities and service delivery to ensure program components are delivered to clients in a person-centered, recovery focused manner. 

 

The Coordinator provides leadership and oversight to the staff and volunteers to maintain a low barrier program using harm reduction strategies to engage program participants. The Coordinator is responsible for leadership, design and implementation of day-to-day operations and program delivery, partnership development and engagement, data collection and reporting and supervision of staff. 

 

Responsibilities of the Coordinator ensure there is a consistent and adequate staffing model and standard of quality that is needed to operate a program that meets all expectations of a trauma-informed, recovery based Drop-In Center for adults who are street-dependent or experiencing homelessness.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs and implements activities that support clients to transition off the streets if they choose to do so.
  • Lead and train staff to support client engagement with daily programming.
  • Oversees, implements, and evaluated effectiveness of programs/activities of the Drop-In Center
  • Responsible for the development, completion, and monitoring of all required data collection and reporting processes related to the Drop-In Center
  • Train and model for staff on building rapport with clients through authentic engagement and strength-based and trauma-informed approaches.
  • The Coordinator also will collaborate with other staff to provide life skills trainings and other sociocultural activities in an effort to support peoples’ goals.
  • Practice professional and ethical boundaries and ensure consistent and equitable service provision.
  • Responsible for the compliance with individual and program/grant outcomes and requirements.
  • Leadership to the design, implementation and evaluation of recovery-focused support and activities delivered at the Center including, processing consumer suggestions and complaints, conducting focus groups, and related documentation, orienting consumers with program procedures, and scheduling/attending meetings of the peer advisory group.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Design and Operate activities and services for the Drop-In Center including but are not limited to hot meals, clothing, laundry facilities, case management services, behavioral health counseling, and connections to health care, including medical care and mental health care, help finding a job and applying for benefits.
  • Hiring and supervision of staff and volunteers working in the Drop-In Center.
  • Arrange and deploy training to staff and volunteers to ensure adequate recovery and person-centered practice is delivered in a professional manner.
  • Handle client crises and escalated situations through collaboration and de-escalation techniques with other staff.
  • Strengthen and increase group partnerships by bringing in community resources to meet gaps in client services.
  • Track, enter, and edit client intakes and daily logs using various software such as Microsoft 365, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), and Microsoft Excel.
  • Work with appropriate community partners on strategies to promote the Drop-In Center’s service to the community, client voice and peer support values.
  • Aid with needs assessments and basic needs distribution with clients when short-staffed.
  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of the Drop-In Center spaces, including a storage closet and kitchen.

Qualifications

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Work requires an Bachelor’s degree in Human Services related field. • One year of experience working with Homeless Individuals preferred. • One year of supervisory experience is required. • More than three years of experience in a position related to programs or services for the homeless and low-income families.• Responsible to complete assigned CPR and Narcan trainings.• Work consists of moderately complex procedures and tasks where basic analytical ability is required.• Current and valid driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.
