Schedule:Full-time up to 35 hours weekly
Reporting Relationship:Corps Officers & Permanent Supportive Housing Supervisor (directly)
Divisional Director of Social Services (indirectly)
Salary/Grade: $18.00 per hour; Grade 75 Non-exempt

Position overview:
The Lead Monitor will serve in a support role to the Corps Officers, under the direct supervision of the Emergency Housing Supervisor. They will be intimately and integrally involved in the daily operations of the program and should be familiar with government (federal, state & local) guidelines. The LM will support the oversight of the CODE BLUE & Winter Shelter operations, as directed by the Emergency Housing Supervisor. The ideal candidate will remain teachable and interested in their ongoing professional development, understanding the needs of clients from a trauma-informed perspective.
Responsibilities
Description of Position:
- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all monitors, consulting with the Emergency Housing Supervisor as needed, including discipline, call outs, complaints, training and development
- Prepare and post a biweekly work schedule in accordance with policy for all monitors ensure proper coverage of staff personnel, and when necessary, perform on-call monitor duties.
- Reviews the prior day's shift log and making entries in accordance with procedures.
- Monitor all participants community task assignments to assist with Residence cleanliness
- Ensuredailyroom inspections are conducted
- Oversee distribution of cleaning, bedding, hygiene, and clothing supplies as necessary, in consultation with the Residence Case Manager & Emergency Housing Supervisor
- Assist Emergency Housing Supervisor with implementation & enforcement of CACFP guidelines
- Report any property issues to the Emergency Housing Supervisor.
- Ensure that all Monitors follow rules and procedures using Sanctuary Model practices.
- Comply with regulations regarding safety, fire, and health codes.
- Serve as Level 1 Reviewer for Resident Grievances related to operations
- Assist in recruitment of participants for monitor positions.
- Coordinate resident intake process with Resident Case Manager, for new residents
- Ensure all check out procedures are completed as directed by the Emergency Housing Supervisor & Corps Officers.
- Maintain regular communication with Emergency Housing Supervisor and perform related duties, as assigned
- Serve on Resident Case Review Team and attend monthly meetings
- Assume some clerical duties, including answering phones, occasional monitor duties and other tasks as assigned by the Emergency Housing Supervisor and/or Corps Officers.
- The LM will be required to read, understand, and follow the local operations manuals and perform duties as assigned, including supporting the operations of the Family Residence.
- Involvement in the total Corps program with willingness to help in all areas as needed, including dining room, outdoor/indoor activities, children with problems, daily assembly, etc.
- Promote observance of the moral and ethical codes affecting the Norristown Corps
- Attend and contribute to Department Head & General Staff Meetings.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Human services and supervisory experience preferred
- Excellent people and problem-solving skills
- Must have access to and use of an insured & inspected vehicle in good operating condition
- As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
- Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
- Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
