Description of Position
- Team Oversight of children (15-30) during planned program time.
- Participate in all group activities, games, and homework help.
- Lead by example, displaying good character and respect.
- Maintain the program area clean and safe for children.
- Assist with various learning plans for instruction. (Including Christian/Biblically based curriculum)
- Assist in tracking attendance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid PA Driver’s License.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Individuals must have previous experience in working with children or comparable training.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
- Must be creative with activities for the gym, game room, computer lab, and craft room.
- PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
- As a mandated reporter, the applicant must complete mandated reporter training on recognizing and reporting child abuse and Salvation Army KeepSAfe training within 30 days of employment.
- Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
