Qualifications 

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.  Must know the game of basketball and its rules.  Must be self motivated, be a team player and able to work independently, be trustworthy, especially in confidential matters, well organized and efficient and able to pass The Salvation Army’s background check and MVR driver’s qualification check. It must be understood by the incumbent that the provisions of Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment and also understood that the required Safe From Harm training be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment. 

Summary of Position 

Officiate basketball games for youth grades K through 8th grade according to employer specifications, overseeing all activities at team practices and games. This is a part time seasonal position with a work week expectation of up to 5 hours per week, for 6 weeks. Expected pay for this position is $18-$20 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• See that the gym is open and ready for practices and/or games 
• See that all program participants receive equal treatment 

• See that all games and practices begin, and end as scheduled 
• See that good conduct and sportsmanship only, is taught 
• See that the rules of B.B. are always adhered to 
  • See that volunteer coaches are present and have all necessary equipment 
  • Fill in as necessary for absent volunteer coaches 
  • Assist the RBA Coordinator in seeing that all equipment is put away properly, gym floor is clean and tile floors in hallways are swept and mopped, gym is locked and all outside access doors, doors to second level and doors to offices are locked after each practice or game 
  • See that all bathrooms are left clean and tidy after all games and practices
