What are the responsibilities and job description for the Charge Nurse position at The South Suburban Council?
Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing* (Bachelor’s Degree preferred). A minimum of one year nursing experience in a hospital or clinical setting (substance abuse/emergency medicine preferred). Ability to clearly communicate with laboratory, medical and counseling staff. Must hold a valid registration as a nurse in the State of Illinois. CADC preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and minimal auto insurance.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Good organizational skills, ability to use logical thinking to solve problems. Good verbal communication skills, ability to effectively follow and provide written and verbal instructions and good short-term memory. Ability to write clearly and chart nursing notes. Ability to effectively monitor and develop subordinates, as well as to retrieve information from the policy and procedure manuals. Ability to perform physical work exerting up to fifty (50) pounds of force on an occasional basis. Ability to tolerate prolonged standing, walking, stooping, lifting, bending and reaching out for.
Description:
Under the supervision of the Medical Director for the medical aspects of the position and under the supervision of the Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for the non-medical components, which assures that all assigned nursing, clinical and operational functions are performed in a timely manner and in accordance with The Council’s established policies and procedures. These functions are essential to assist in achieving Council goals and objectives as well as to assure efficient and effective Council operations
