CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
- The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
- This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
- Must have a current and valid Florida Driver’s License.
- As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e. High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, nights, and weekends.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent and One (1) year of professional security experience; OR
- Six (6) months of security experience on a military installation
- Must have Six (6) months of work-related firearms experience
- Must possess a current Florida Class ‘G’ Security Guard License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, grasp, push, and pull
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patrol CBJTC designated areas, specified zones and CBJTC property perimeter as directed in Post SOP.
- Control entry to restricted areas.
- Check all doors and gates to be sure they are secured.
- Operates a vehicle equipped with a two-way radio.
- Carries uses and cares for a .45 caliber pistol.
- Perform inspections of vehicles and personnel entering the installation or designated facilities as directed.
- Operates detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
- Answers telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, conduct morale / health & welfare calls and provide information.
- Writes safety/ accident reports of any incidents and or post violations.
- Maintains a communication log of all activities throughout the shift.
- Responds to alarms, vehicle accidents and other incidents.
- Assists responding agency as required.
- Notify shift supervisor, police, or Fire Rescue department in case of emergency, such as fire, accident, injuries or presence of unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, and breaches of security.
- Preserve order, protect property, and warns persons of Post Policy infractions or violations and evicts violators from premises.
- Inspects department equipment and vehicles to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
- Observe fellow officers during weapons clearing procedures.
- Adhere to FLNG Standard of Conduct and wear of the designated uniform. Other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to deal effectively with individuals and co-workers

- Knowledge of telecommunications equipment
- Knowledge of Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of FL Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ)
- Knowledge of Dept. of Military Affairs (DMA) and Camp Blanding Joint Training Center (CBJTC) Security Policies and Procedures
- Knowledge of basic emergency first aide
- Must be able to perform following physical requirements in the line of duty
- Wear police type duty equipment daily that weighs up to 22lbs
- Be able to move heavy objects 40lbs or more
- Carry injured or intoxicated persons while performing duties
- Walk, stand, and sit for periods of not less than 30 min at a time
- Enter and exit patrol vehicle excessively
- Must be physically able to restrain non-compliant persons and or defend yourself in a physical confrontation
- Run varied distances in full duty gear to subdue non-compliant personnel
- Be able to stand for periods up to an hour during special security details
- Able to function in all-weather situations
