Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: The FFPSA worker receives referrals directly from the CPS supervisor once a prevention plan has been developed and the family has been referred to the Family First prevention provider. Coordinates with the family and provider to confirm the prevention plan meets the needs of the family and accurately represents the services being provided. Partners with the family and provider around initial and ongoing engagement with services. In addition the FFPSA develops and maintains strong partnerships and working relationships with local prevention providers and educates community regarding the Family First Prevention Services Act.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - Education
  • For Child Protection Specialist - Four-year degree in a Human Services or Behavioral Sciences field of study, or education determined relevant by the agency. Valid Driver’s License must be maintained throughout employment. A copy of Valid Driver’s License is to be provided upon hire.

Licensing & Certification

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Kansas Social Work License desired, but not required


Preferred Qualifications - Child Protection Specialist – One or more of the following

  • Bachelor’s in Social Work (Licensed Social Worker)
  • Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
  • Licensed Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) professional as determined relevant by the agency
  • A minimum of 2-years of work experience in Children and Family Services
