Village Operations and Maintenance Assistant

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Village Operations and Maintenance Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the maintenance of Corporate and village assets, assisting with special projects, and meeting the operations and maintenance needs of the Tatitlek community. Working closely with the Village Operations Manager and Village Services Coordinator, you will assist in various tasks related to property and equipment management within the Village and surrounding region. The Tatitlek Corporation maintains a strong partnership with the Village of Tatitlek and provides support through a Memorandum of Agreement to the Village IRA Council.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with Village Maintenance activity:

• Perform routine inspections and assessments of equipment, including an excavator, bulldozer, forklift, and dump truck, to identify and address maintenance needs promptly.• Assist with property upkeep, including lawn maintenance and other landscaping tasks.• Assist with construction projects that may include but not limited to painting, basic plumbing issues, repairing or placing light fixtures, switches, and outlets. • Clearing trash from project locations. • Assist Village Services Coordinator in fixing minor repairs and maintenance issues promptly, serving as the go-to person for emergency maintenance assistance and handyman fixes within the village, especially in aging buildings.• Assist in tracking and maintaining properties and equipment to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.

Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate daily timesheets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience in property and equipment maintenance, preferably in a community or village setting.• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair procedures.• Basic handyman skills and ability to perform minor repairs.• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Resides in the Village of Tatitlek.• High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or vocational training is a plus.• Ability to operate equipment.• Willingness to work flexible hours based on the needs of the community.Requirements: Preferred• Resides with school aged children.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, candidates for posted positions must have acceptable reference and background check results. Some travel will be required.

Salary : $23
