What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rooms House Person position at The Thayer Hotel?
The Historic Thayer Hotel at West Point is currently looking for a Rooms Houseperson to perform housekeeping, laundry, and other various duties.
Rooms Houseperson Essential Functions:
- Clean hallways, elevators, and public areas; vacuum, sweep, dust, mop, wash, and shampoo carpets
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and woodwork
- Housekeeping of guest rooms
- Delivers linen to Room attendants
- Clean and stock bathrooms and housekeeping closets
- Empty trash receptacles and pick up room attendants' trash bags
- Move furniture
- Collect and deliver linen and towels and transport them to the laundry facility
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Qualified applicants will have the ability to stand for extended periods of time and have the ability to bend, lift and carry heavy objects 50 pounds
Qualifications
- Minimum formal education of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to determine a course of action based on guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to pass a drug screening test'

Pay: $13.20 - $15.00 per hour
