RESPONSIBILITIES:
Diagnoses mechanical and hydraulic breakdowns on process or process support machines / equipment (turning, forming, CNC, grinding, heat treat, etc.), plant equipment (compressors, waste treatment, boilers, chillers, HVAC, etc.), and facilities.
Repairs may necessitate dismantling, replacing, testing, and operating mechanical and hydraulic systems or components. Repairs may involve ream, grind, lap, thread, scrape, file, hand fit, assemble, drill, tap, simple milling, brick or seal. This may require setup and operation of associated tools and equipment such as drill press, simple lathe, saw, hydraulic press, brake, thread cutter, and others.
Checks dimensions with electrical/electronic or mechanical measuring devices that may include micrometers, calipers, rule, masters, tape measure, and dial indicators.
Follows prescribed procedures in making preventive maintenance to process equipment, process support equipment, plant equipment, or facilities as required in accordance with production schedules. This may include lubricating, oiling, filter replacement, and drive mechanism replacement.
Handles and moves material in and about process area and plant using floor-controlled pendant crane, hoist, hand truck, or by hand.
Performs related assignments such as logging jobs, maintenance reports, etc., and keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
REQUIREMENTS:
3 years of work experience as maintenance in manufacturing environment or related field with proven work experience with inspection, repair, installation, and maintenance of all types of manufacturing equipment preferred
Demonstrated work experience with mechanical repairs and adjustments to precision instruments and gauges
High School Diploma or GED required plus 2-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field preferred
3 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields preferred
3 years of computer experience/operation including MS Office and PLC programming preferred
Proven record of reliable attendance, strong work ethic and team skills
