What are the responsibilities and job description for the Closing Department position at The Title Company?
Be able to assist customers and clients with closing related questions. Manage the entire real estate closing process, including compliance with real estate contracts, lender instructions, title requirements, company requirements and other written instructions. Be able to understand the escrow process to determine what steps need to be taken to transfer the title of property. Oversee the issuance of checks, bills and statements, receipts, and any other documents needed to ensure customer satisfaction. Help to maintain, verify, record all legal documents with correct acknowledgements, legal, and lien information, and any other back-end processing. Ensure and confirm all funds are collected as well as all processes and other legal descriptions are correct prior to disbursement. All dues including tax and HOA should be disbursed appropriately any delinquencies and/or principal and interest taken care of. Collect Payoffs, ensure required items mailed and delivered and/or wired according to instructions. Verify against the Settlement Statement that all disbursements have been paid correctly. Setup outgoing wires online banking for seller’s proceeds, payoff, realtor’s commission, etc. Prepare and ship lender’s package. Mail recorded docs to the lender and buyer/borrower.
Specific Knowledge:
Good client relations and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Detail-oriented and professional;
Able to handle confidential information.
Strong communication, both verbal and written.
Ability to deal with multiple types of roles such as real estate sellers, buyers, agents and brokers.
