GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Working side by side with the company owners, the Human Resource Manager is the point person for all employee and benefit related issues. The Human Resource Manager handles all aspects of the job by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: *

  • Benefits including the following:
  • Health/dental,
  • Life, Supplemental life, AD&D, Long term care
  • Health savings accounts,
  • FMLA and CT PFML
  • Short term disability
  • Rx reporting
  • 401(k), workers compensation, section 125, and various voluntary benefits
  • Yearly open enrollment.
  • Nova Time,
  • Time keeping system to track weekly time sheets, to prepare for payroll
  • Tracks paid time off accruals, holiday hours, schedule PTO and run time keeping reports.
  • Activate new hires for Nova Time access
  • Paylocity is our payroll vendor and is used weekly for payroll. Along with payroll Paylocity is also used for the following tasks:
  • ACA reporting 1095 C
  • Performance reviews
  • Benefits
  • Tax records-W-2
  • Run weekly payroll reports
  • Employee payroll deductions
  • Human Resource is responsible for all staffing needs:
  • Job Descriptions
  • Hiring, onboarding and terminations
  • Scheduling interviews with managers
  • Offer and rejection letters
  • Exit interviews
  • Unemployment paperwork
  • Sexual Harassment training
  • HIPAA training
  • Policies
  • Keeping Employee Handbook up to date
  • Education on all state and federal laws and guidelines
  • CDC & OSHA
  • Writing policies and procedures and implementing them.
  • Licensing
  • State licensing for each state we are licensed in for all producers, and DGB. Remind and renew for inside sales and licensed personnel in house.
  • Third Party Administrator licensing reports for states we are licensed as a TPA.
  • Tracking and recording all agencies & brokers doing business with Diversified.

Must have their current license and Errors and Omission policies on file.

  • Agent Commission Contracts
  • All agencies placing business with Diversified and receiving a commission must complete a Commission/Fee Agreement
  • A spreadsheet and files are maintained in order to complete these records
  • Facilities Management
  • Water testing in accordance with State requirements done by Microbac Labs
  • Filtration system with Culligan
  • Well Operator Mike Filanda per state guidelines
  • Septic System
  • Accra Temp- A/C
  • AC/DC- generator
  • Electrician- Gardner Electric
  • Plumber- Roach Plumbing
  • Lawn Care/Snow Removal-Grasshopper Landscaping

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resource experience.
  • Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, and Excel.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient language with ability to read and interpret written documents and spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette with active listening, clarity of speech, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain patient, calm and understanding with all circumstances surrounding employees
  • Ability to use proper and fair judgment with problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform quality work demonstrating accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and adaptability, and work in a team environment.
  • Adheres to company safety guidelines.
  • Dependable and adheres to company attendance guidelines.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis, operating office machines and handling light materials and supplies in a typical office environment setting.
  • May spend extended periods operating desktop computer, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity; and communicating face-to-face, on the telephone and in writing.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Periodic physical activity requires standing and walking.
  • Occasional physical activity requires climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $73,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
