About the Trustees
The Trustees of Reservations (The Trustees) is the nation’s premier conservation and preservation organization. The Trustees’ properties are open to all, and we thrive by involving as many people as possible in all that we do. Founded in 1891 by a group of visionary volunteers, we preserve, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts. We aim to protect special places for future generations to enjoy in perpetuity. We have helped protect more than 50,000 acres, including 27,000 acres on more than 120 reservations that are open to the public. We are a non-profit conservation organization funded and supported entirely by our visitors, supporters, volunteers, and our 100,000 Member households.
The Role
Locations: Hybrid, Boston, MA
Salary Range: $74,500 - $85,900
The Salesforce Administrator provides strategic and technical support to maximize the value of the Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack platform for current and future business, user, and system needs of The Trustees. The Administrator will participate in all CRM data and lifecycle management activities, including configuring solutions and applying Salesforce Well-Architected best practices and maintaining and enhancing integrations and systems operations. The Administrator will also provide coaching and manage internal and external projects and resources, contributing to the smooth operation and delivery of roadmap action items for the CRM platform.
Role Functions
Project and Governance Management
- Identify and gather requirements, translate into best practice, and create scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience
- Identify enhancements that optimize the organization’s use of Salesforce and drive toward our organizational objectives
- Manage CRM Governance Group, updates, and enhancements
- Manage third-party vendors and work to keep internal and external project members on deadline
- Design a roadmap for ongoing enhancements to the CRM platform and lead on the management of those projects
- Manage CRM project budget
System Integrations and Management
- Manage data and develop strategy to improve Salesforce data quality, implementing data clean-up efforts, rules, and automation as needed
- Lead proactive system maintenance including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer
- Create and manage technical documentation
- Work with integrated applications including (but not limited to) Marketing Cloud, ACME, Classy, Omatic, Apsona, and Shopify
- Own the communication of any platform changes to end users and stakeholders
- Manage Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): flows, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic forms, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards, and reports
- Manage Sandbox environment
User Support, Training, and Enhancement
- Oversee all aspects of user and license management, including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD, sharing rules
- Resolve user support tickets
- Design a governance structure, in collaboration with CRM core users, to maintain and manage the system long-term
- Monitor and improve user adoption
- Provide new user and ongoing user training
- Partner with Subject Matter Experts and Department Leaders on user documentation and change management
Qualifications
- Salesforce Certified Administrator required. Salesforce Platform App Builder and other certifications encouraged
- The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and strategist with strong organizational skills and an excellent understanding of organizational goals and technical systems environments.
- Strong track record in coaching a team of Salesforce professionals, leading cross-departmental teams and external partners to meet product roadmap timelines and goals, and working through change management questions as needed. The director will be technologically savvy, self-motivated, reliable, and flexible.
- 2-3 years of work experience as a product owner, Salesforce platform manager, or business analyst working with Salesforce
- 3-5 years experience working with NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack)
- 3-5 years experience working with Classy, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar platforms
- Experience in navigating organizational change successfully, and track record of leadership through complex initiatives requiring change in business processes, technology, and culture
- Excellent technical and analytical abilities, and strategic orientation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present to and influence varied audiences.
- Comfortable working within and across teams, both remote and in office.
- High degree of comfort working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple initiatives/projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage projects and workflow while using time and resources effectively
- Passion for land conservation, outdoor recreation, and cultural preservation, and commitment to The Trustees’ organizational mission
- Passion for the best User Experiences possible
- Experience working at a non-profit a plus
