Position Summary:
Assists the Director of Student Ministries in facilitating the ministries of RSM. Generally responsible for helping develop programs for our middle school students (activities, events, Bible studies, etc.) and building relationships with those students and their families.
Essential Skills and Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate middle school programming for Wednesday night and Sunday mornings
- Build relationships with students through attending school activities and sharing meals.
- Assist the Director of Student Ministries in implementing ideas that keep RSM fresh and exciting.
- Strong communication skills including visual, print, online, in-person, and all forms of electronic communication.
- Build strong relationships with youth, parents, staff, and community.
- Ability to relate to youth while maintaining professional relationships and serving in a pastoral capacity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- Youth Program Experience (1-3 Years)
- General understanding of the Bible, the Christian faith, and United Methodist teachings.
- Strong leadership, empathy, and communication skills along with emotional intelligence and the ability to present/speak in front of large audiences.
- Extremely organized and able to provide and take direction to and from others.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate campus multiple times per day.
- Willingness to work extended and non-traditional hours.
- Local and occasional regional travel required.
