Coordinator of Career Services

Bradford Student Affairs - Pennsylvania-Bradford - (24003769)

Join our dynamic team as the Coordinator of Career Services, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future careers of our students! You will work with students to identify, explore, test, and refine career options and goals, foster partnerships with community and campus stakeholders, as well as research and curate experiential learning opportunities (internship, employment, and service/volunteerism) tailored to our students' needs.

This is a 12-month, full-time position in the Division of Student Affairs, functioning with a high degree of autonomy, and reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Experiential Learning and Leadership.

Salary: $43,000 - $50,000/year

Duties: The coordinator will work together with students, faculty, and community members and will be responsible for:

  • Providing counseling/coaching to college students on career exploration, planning and the job search, preparing and competing for experiential learning opportunities, professional employment, and graduate/professional school opportunities.
  • Designing, conducting, and evaluating in- and out- of the classroom career education opportunities, workshops, job fairs, and programming.
  • Marketing programs, projects, services, activities, and events through various communication venues and social media; developing flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials.
  • Promoting career services by making presentations to classes and student organizations and by coordinating special events, programs, receptions, etc.
  • Serving as the campus "point person" to foster positive relationships with employers and service agencies to connect students with appropriate internship, externship, job shadowing, employment, and service opportunities.
  • Representing Career Services and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in speaking to visiting employers, alumni, and parents during recruiting visits, information sessions, alumni events, admissions programs, and orientation functions.
  • Participating during the summer months in the planning and facilitation of new student orientations.
  • Promoting an environment of belonging as it relates to equity, inclusion, diversity, and accessibility.

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with two to three years of relevant experience. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in higher education programs, especially those focusing on student employment, student affairs, or career design/development. Flexibility of approach and a collaborative style are essential. Student Affairs is a dynamic and high-energy environment: the rewards are high – but so are the demands on time and engagement.

Benefits: Excellent benefits package, including education benefit (university-paid tuition) for employee and dependents; retirement plan with up to 8% employer match; group medical insurance, life insurance, optional vision, and dental insurance; and generous vacation, sick and personal time.
