Job Description:
To provide case management services by: assisting students to reliably connect to community providers and resources; coordinating referrals between the Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) and university, community, state, regional, and nationwide service providers; triaging clients through brief clinical assessments to determine level of care and disposition; intervening with students in crisis and providing support, resources, and information; contacting insurance companies; keeping an up-to-date database of community referrals; providing individual counseling, group counseling, supervision and outreach as needed; assisting the Assistant Director for Access and Referral Services in maintaining a successful case management system. Other duties as assigned.----

The Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC) provides a full range of mental health services including time-limited individual counseling, group counseling, psychiatric assessment and treatment, integrated health care, urgent care, 24-hour telephone crisis counseling, referral services, and prevention services. Training and supervision is provided to psychology and social work interns, psychiatric residents, pharmacy residents, nurse practitioner students, and psychology practicum students. The center's large, multidisciplinary staff includes licensed professional counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists, public health professionals, and social workers.

General Notes
Available immediately. This position is currently funded for one year to end on December 31, 2020. Work schedule to be discussed during interview.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate referrals between CMHC and university, community, state, regional and nationwide service providers.
- Triaging clients by conducting brief clinical assessments to determine level of care and disposition.
- Intervene with students in crisis and providing support, resources and information.
- Provide individual counseling, group counseling, supervision, and outreach as needed.
- Attend and participate in departmental and division meetings and staff development programs as assigned.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work
- LCSW or LMSW in the state of Texas
- Experience providing case management, crisis intervention, brief assessment/triage, and care coordination to young adults and/or college students.
- Experience in high demand outpatient or inpatient health settings.
- Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team of mental health providers.
- Experience proving culturally competent care to a diverse client population.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience in providing case management, brief assessment/triage, and crisis intervention services.
- Experience working in a university counseling center.
- Experience and expertise working with college students who have marginalized identities or historically underutilize mental health services
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with campus personnel, such as professionals in academic affairs and other student services providers.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a large system, and to participate and collaborate effectively in a large mental health services agency.
- Licensed for a minimum of two years.
Salary Range
LMSW: $47,508 + depending on qualifications
LCSW: $51,000 + depending on qualifications
