About the Governor’s Center for Management Development at the LBJ School: The Governor’s Center for Management Development originated in 1988 under Governor Clements. In 1993, through an Executive Order by Governor Ann Richards, the Governor’s Center was reorganized through the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin. For the past 30 years the Governor’s Center has provided management and leadership development to employees at all levels of state organizations and institutions of higher education. Purpose The Marketing Manager for LBJ School's Executive Education Program is responsible for leading the strategic design, development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy, inclusive of owned, earned and paid, to enhance our programs’ prominence within the executive education sector. The Marketing Manager, LBJ Executive Education is a member of the LBJ School’s Communications and Marketing team and reports to the School’s Digital Strategy Manager. The Marketing Manager, LBJ Executive Education has a dotted line to the Executive Education Dean and Director and is responsible for coordinating between teams. The ideal candidate is a pro-active self- starter with leadership skills. Responsibilities Content Marketing & SEO/SEM: Oversee content marketing initiatives, search engine optimization (SEO), and search engine marketing (SEM) Conduct market research to identify trends and customer preferences Channel management: Oversee Executive Education webpages, email newsletters and social media content Produce marketing and promotional materials: Including but not limited to brochures and direct mail pieces Identify new potential customers through partnership building, sponsorship opportunities and list management Attract and engage potential students to the top of the funnel and cultivate a robust pipeline of qualified leads Measure the performance of marketing campaigns Team supervision: Manage and provide leadership for team members, including student workers or contracted vendors as necessary. Identify, evaluate and recommend a paid advertising strategy to boost brand visibility and drive growth Event coordination: infrequent participation on campus/off campus events to highlight events and student engagement in marketing streams Measurement & Analytics: Collaborate with colleagues to target and measure conversion rates and performance metrics for advertising and owned assets like webpages, social media, and email. Conduct usability testing on the website and collaborate with web developers to enhance user experience. Create documentation for standard processes and furnish insights and recommendations to stakeholders. Management: Oversee the management of student staff or vendors as required. Lead marketing projects for Executive Education from inception to completion. Additional Duties: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, providing recommendations for performance enhancement and strategic investment. Formulate strategies to boost website search engine rankings and manage paid search campaigns to amplify website traffic. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree. 4-6 years experience in strategic marketing or related roles. Demonstrated ability to craft accurate, grammatically sound written content, encompassing headlines, short narratives, descriptions, and captions. Capability to independently generate compelling online content. Knowledge of SEO/SEM principles and best practices. Experience in overseeing paid advertising campaigns. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications More than the required experience. Google Analytics certification (candidates able to obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment may be considered). Proven expertise in Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Search Console, Ads, and related tools in a professional capacity. Proficiency in content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress. Beginner to intermediate photo skills. Beginner to intermediate graphic design skills in Adobe, Canva, or other design tools. Salary Range $65,000 depending on qualifications Working Conditions Standard office conditions. Regular keyboard use. Hybrid work options available.
