Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Manager – Box Office & Events is to oversee the operations of the Box Office Department. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division, and The Venetian Resort.
- Manages and monitors day to day operations of assigned department(s) and scheduling requirements to maximize productivity while maintaining necessary staffing levels to accommodate high guest service standards.
- Assists in developing and implementing Box Office Operations Policies and procedures.
- Plan, direct, monitor and evaluate the work of subordinates.
- Work with Accounting, Special Events, Casino, Meeting Services, Banquets, Public Relations, F&B and outside vendors, and all other service providers.
- Manages Human Resources responsibilities for assigned department(s) to include creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Makes hire, termination, development, training, and performance evaluation decisions. Reviews and issues department disciplines.
- Manage staff and organize department functions in accordance with company guidelines.
- Delegate tasks and department assignments or projects, meeting deadlines related to those assignments.
Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (staff and budgetary).
- Creates pricing, manages inventory, builds shows and process reporting for both internal and partnered events.
- Evaluate the schedule or timelines related to the completion of assignments, while maintaining service and/or product quality.
- Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures.
- Assess, evaluate, and review data for organizing projects and/or providing direction on activities, tasks, or processes in accordance with company guidelines.
- Render advice, and provide expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, analyzed, or reviewed.
- Assess and investigate department accounting errors.
- Evaluate information to render an opinion or act based on that information that will impact the department or function.
- Safety is an essential function of this job.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 4 years of experience in box office and in a supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of Virtual Roster, Kronos, Microsoft Word and Excel and an understanding of box office operations, box office reporting, box office accounting, ticketing systems (Ticketmaster, Archtics, EMT, TM1) call center operations, theatre operations & special events.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to:
- Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
