Children’s Ministry Director Job Description

The Children’s Ministry Director will oversee and work with other volunteers over all ministries involving birth – 5thgrades.

• Job includes up to 15 hours per week (6 hours per week on-site).
• Pay is up to $16.00 per hour.
• Immediate Supervisor – Lead Pastor

Qualifications:

• Must be a dedicated believer and follower of Jesus Christ.
• Must maintain high character and morality with unquestionable integrity.
• Must have a passion to see children come to know Jesus Christ in a personal way.
• Must believe in the value of the local church and the impact of its ministries both locally and world-wide.
• Must adhere to the Doctrinal statements and Bylaws of The Vine Church. These may be found at www.thevineonline.com under the “Who we are” and “What we Believe” sections. These statements undergird our vision, mission and purpose.
• Previous experience is a plus.

Primary Duties:

• Provide and interactive, relevant, worship experience for all ages (birth – 5th-grade) each Sunday.
• Oversee all children’s departments and its directors aiding them in curriculum, supplies and recruitment of volunteer leadership such as teachers, assistants, etc.
• Maintain healthy and clean environments for all children.
• Communicate consistently with parents and children to build relationship and encourage involvement in the church.
• Consistently communicate expectations with volunteer leaders.
• Provide consistent fellowship opportunities for children and /or parents to help develop relationship with one another.
• Oversee budgets and expenditures for children ministry areas.
• To complete background checks on all volunteers serving in the Children’s ministry areas per the churches policy and system.
• Attend staff meetings as required by Lead Pastor or Elder board.

Secondary Duties:

• Provide regular mission/service opportunities for children and/or parents to show the love of God to those we minister too.
• Oversee Vacation Bible School during the summer.
• Review Children’s camp opportunities.
• Review Children’s summer opportunities.
• Help as part of the “team” other events such as Harvest Festival, Family Night and Movie Night.

Other Duties:

• Review ministry opportunities such as MOPS, and Mother’s Morning Out programs.
• Review children’s curriculum on a regular basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
