Job Title: Banquet Manager
Reports to: Senior Banquet Manager
Purpose for the Position: This role is designed to oversee and manage all hotel functions, banquets, parties, etc., ensuring exceptional service is provided.
Requirements:
- Oversee and manage all banquet operations and reporting team members.
- Maintain an exceptional level of service and expectations for the property and team.
- Communicate daily with the required hotel leadership regarding planning, staffing, and internal procedures for upcoming events.
- Analyze Banquet Event Orders to plan and coordinate operational details for all functions, working closely with other departments and applicable team members.
- Represent the hotel professionally when meeting with clients to discuss and determine function details.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards
- Recruit, hire and cross train individuals to encourage a stimulating environment.
- Establish and uphold operational structure, consistency, employee morale and internal growth opportunities.
- Understand, engage, and lead all reporting team members.
- Be a team builder that encourages an inviting atmosphere, with a “lead by example” management style.
- Be an effective communicator and communicate thoroughly.
- Hold all team members (Including yourself!) accountable by focusing on performance and measurable results.
- Organize, conduct, and engage in team meetings to keep team members current with necessary information.
- Practice effective time management to prioritize as relative duties pertain to the team and business.
- Aid in the development of all banquets plans and menus for optimal service.
- Oversee the purchasing, receiving and storage of all banquet related items.
- Conduct regular inventories of all supplies to guarantee ample supplies and par levels are always on hand.
- Manage expenses through waste management, portion control and practicing proper inventorying and ordering.
- Safeguard the expected quality and consistency of all F&B items by providing effective training and direction to team members.
- Understand and work within the budgeted guidelines for food and payroll.
- Practice fair and consistent Human Resources procedures with detailed documentation. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Establish and contribute to new goals for the hotel and team keeping everyone engaged and motivated.
- Conduct day to day business with integrity, making decisions on behalf of the hotel, team, and guests.

Physical Demands: Lifting 30 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and small tools. Walking, standing, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing are required.
Environmental Conditions: Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered “inside” if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside.
Supervisory Responsibility: Hires, trains and supervises full-time, part-time and/or temporary workers.
