JOB OVERVIEW:
As a lifeguard, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of patrons at our aquatic facilities. You will be responsible for monitoring swimmers, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies. You will also facilitate pool activities that involve guest participation.

Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure swimmer safety
- Conduct rescue operations as required and in accordance with standard safety protocols
- Monitor weather and conditions and react appropriately to include evacuation of pool, participants seeking covered shelter and verifying conditions are safe prior to allowing swimmers to return to pool
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure pool area is safe and ready for guests to use
- Open and close pools and/or beaches
- Contribute to cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of facility routinely and as directed by Head Guard/WSI/Pool Manager or schedule
- Assist CPO/Operations Manager and Pool Managers to organize and facilitate pool activities and events for Water Valley community
- Other duties as assigned
- American Red Cross, YMCA, National Aquatic Safety Co, Starguard, Ellis & Associates, Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED Professional Rescuer certifications required
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Strong swimming ability and proficiency in water rescue techniques
- Ability to follow direction from CPO/Operations Manager/Pool Managers
- Able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays (flexible schedule)
- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- Water Front safety certification preferred
