The Well Experience (TWE) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in the Champaign-Urbana community that promotes the holistic growth and development of families. Through the provision of resources, education services, and empowering activities, TWE focuses on building strengths and helping individuals develop the tools they need to be their best selves. TWE is committed to providing mental health awareness, building community, social connections, and resiliency for youth, teens, and women.
The Well Experience is hiring an enthusiastic individual to serve as a Program Coordinator who will plan and oversee employees for various programs or projects for youth and family programs at TWE. The Program Coordinator will work to help the organization keep programs on target and implementation guidelines, maintain and report program data, stay within the stated budgets, and function smoothly. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Operations in recruiting, mentoring, training, and supervising a team of staff and youth. The Program Coordinator will maintain accurate notes for effective program evaluation and meet funding requirements.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be a well-rounded professional, who works comfortably both independently and collaboratively in the development of effective youth programming, mental health education, and services to youth and families. A successful candidate will have solid experience and expertise in serving marginalized populations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in recruiting program staff for the designated positions
- Work well with a team from diverse backgrounds
- Build relationships with staff, parents, youth, community partners, and other affiliates of The Well Experience
- Attend all TWE assigned training and professional development sessions
- Plan and coordinate programs and activities
- Monitor implementation of program policies and practices
- Work to keep programs on schedule, within stated budgets, and functioning smoothly
- Support program growth and development as necessary
- Coordinate program communications
- Manage staff work assignments, workloads, and work schedules
- Administer or oversee fundraising operations for programs as well as community outreach
- Oversee the program budget, including tracking billing, payments, and other financial transactions
- Coordinate interactions/relationships between staff, clients, administrators, and all other program stakeholders
- Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events
- Oversee the use of technology for program operations, such as video conferencing technology, presentation software, and other communications technologies, for instance
- Create and maintain program records, reports, presentations, and proposals
- Facilitate positive relations between the program team, the public, the media. other departments within the organization, and all other involved parties.
- Manage marketing and communications (media relations, social media)
- Engage families in leadership development opportunities both at TWE and in the community
- Maintain accurate files in The Well Experience office
- Regularly Check-in with staff members to make sure they have what they need to be successful
- Ensure surveys are completed by parents, youth, and community partners
- Meet with the Administrative Staff regularly
- Support, motivate and build leadership and unity in staff
- Other duties as agreed upon
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- Associate degree (required)
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
Experience:
- Ability to generate, analyze, and synthesize data about the behavior, progress, and needs of families individually, and with groups
- Parenting knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and good judgment of cross-cultural issues
- Ability to work with students, parents, staff, administrators, and the community
Other:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving ability
