Manages and assists in the development of the Wendy’s QA programs regarding food safety, quality, sanitation, production, CSR and/or animal welfare of multiple major products and other assigned minor products in accordance with the departmental plan of action. Manages all aspects of assigned products and their corresponding suppliers’ compliance including auditing, product evaluation, lab testing, data management and other necessary management tools. Manages supplier compliance to the quality and food safety standards and specifications set forth by the Wendy’s Brand.

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. * The target annual bonus for this role is 20% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.

Responsibilities
- Develops, updates, and implements programs, procedures, and actions to effectively monitor and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards for a variety of major and minor produce items. Provides technical support to Wendy’s franchise and company store operations in ensuring the highest standards of produce safety and quality.
- Oversees the scheduling and conducting of audits at produce farms and facilities to ensure adherence to departmental action plans and compliance with company standards for produce safety, quality, and sustainability. Ensures completion of annual third-party audits for all assigned produce suppliers.
- Responsible for fostering cross-functional communication and collaboration. Cultivates close partnerships with other departments to advance initiatives in produce safety and quality, supporting initiatives in research and development, quality assurance, and supply chain operations related to produce items.
- Coordinates and supervises laboratory testing and data management for assigned produce products at external labs and suppliers, ensuring adherence to sampling and testing frequencies outlined in the produce safety and quality action plan. Manages specifications and evaluation procedures for all assigned produce items.
- Develops solutions and provides recommendations to produce suppliers and Wendy’s QA personnel for corrective actions to address deficiencies and areas of non-compliance related to assigned produce products.
- Education: Bachelors Degree Additional education information (major, etc.): Food Science, Meat Science, Microbiology or related field.
- Knowledge of food science, HACCP, food processing technology, equipment, microbiology.
- Minimum five years work experience in food processing QA or Operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of statistical analysis - statistical process control.
- GAP auditing experience, familiarity with LGMA as a member or auditor to those standards
- Previous work history at a produce supplier of leafy greens or auditing those locations in the desert and valley areas
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- GIS/Google Earth Pro Experience
