POSITION SUMMARY


The Executive Director (ED-MarCom) provides leadership, direction and operational oversight of all marketing and communications functions. The ED-MarCom is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of daily and routine communications, digital, print and broadcast marketing strategies, social media, video scripts, storyboarding and production, print products, and internal, external, media relations and public relations communications to elevate the overall profile, brand and name recognition of The Wright Centers for Community Health and Graduate Medical Education. Strategically positions The Wright Centers within the communities served, health insurance companies, governmental organizations, health care organizations, and prospective donors and other key stakeholders. Ensures strong internal communication across the organization in collaboration with executive leadership and human resources.


The ED-MarCom develops an in-depth understanding of the various markets served by The Wright Center for Community Health and positions the primary care practices and services to achieve maximum growth potential. Ensures a sufficient flow of new patient prospects for The Wright Center for Community Health to achieve sustained revenue, patient and market growth for critical programs and clinics. 


The ED-MarCom positions The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education as a preferred destination for residents, fellows, physician faculty, physicians and related health care providers and employees.


The ED-MarCom demonstrates strong managerial and leadership skills and is able to develop and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships and understands how to drive projects from ideation to execution.


The ED-MarCom serves as a spokesperson for public relations, crisis and incident communications, oversees the content and coordination of executive communications, messaging and writing, and develops strategies that showcase The Wright Center’s impact, influence and executive thought leadership in graduate medical education and in the integrated delivery of primary care services on regional and national levels.  

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The position reports to the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.  This position supervises the Marketing and Communications team. 


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES and FUNCTIONS

While living and demonstrating our Core Values, The Executive Director Marketing and Communications will:

  • Serve as an integral member of the Leadership Team, supporting the development and implementation of The Wright Center’s overall brand strategy and institutional positioning
  • Provide strategic, creative, and tactical leadership to increase awareness of The Wright Center for Community Health’s integrated primary care services
  • Develop, with the engagement of clinical and educational leaders, and implements an integrated marketing and communications strategy across the organization 
  • Oversee and participate in the writing of advertorial content for print, digital, billboard, broadcast etc., marketing campaigns 
  • Collaborate with human resources to develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy that positions The Wright Center as an employer of choice
  • Manage and expand the various digital platforms, including the redesign of various holding pages on the website
  • Develops and manages all marketing processes and measurements in collaboration with education and community health marketing managers
  • Manage The Wright Center’s advertising, public relations, community relations, sponsorship opportunities and promotional activities
  • Lead coordinated communication for The Wright Center’s internal messaging across the entire organization, including supporting messaging for critical organizational change management, The Insider, CMS messaging, internal message screens, enterprise calendar, etc.
  • Structures, hires, develops and manages a talented, diverse, motivated team, ensuring their growth
  • In collaboration with executive leadership, develops and manages the budget for marketing and communications
  • Build equity in The Wright Center brand through strong utilization of consumer insights, understanding of marketplace and visionary thinking and innovation
  • Support donor and board development strategies with marketing collateral (newsletters, donor solicitations and special event promotion)
  • Drive marketing and communications efforts in all arenas so The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Safety-Net Consortium is recognized by the federal government as the Health and Human Services’ gold standard as the community-based model for comprehensive primary health care and integrated workforce development by June 30, 2027.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, advertising or related field; Master’s preferred
  • 10-12 years of related experience. Health care, public information or media experience preferred
  • Demonstrates competency in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as expressed in all activities and interactions, including the development of promotional and communication materials

  • Ability to build long-term and trust-based relationships
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player who will proactively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside The Wright Center
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • A demonstrated adherence to the highest standards of integrity
  • Identifies opportunities to create/curate authored content and collaborates with stakeholders to execute
  • Oversee daily management of media relationships, editorial opportunities, pitching, messaging, media prep and counsel, measurement, and reporting
  • Consult with internal and external constituents to identify communications goals and objectives; executes solutions for high-impact projects/initiatives
  • Utilize metrics to define strategy and supporting goals; analyzes audience requirements and behavior
  • Provide oversight and assigns editorial project components; serve as the driver of all content across all internal and external channels; editing/proofreading copy written by others, including the content editor, marketing managers, and external writers, designers and other vendors
  • Manage confidential information prior to internal or public dissemination

4. Build name and brand recognition of TWC in NEPA among patients and public

5. Build, train and grow talents of marcom department to meet overall needs of the organization
