Position Description
Eastman First Baptist is seeking a qualified candidate to join its ministry team for the purpose of providing planning, oversight and leadership to the full spectrum of music ministries at our church.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in worship leadership or ministry.
- Additional seminary education preferred.
- Must have a strong emphasis on congregational singing.
- Ability to apply sound theology to song selection.
- Adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Sunday services for 8 : 45 AM and 11 : 00 AM & 6 : 00 PM.
- Oversee all practices of both choir and orchestra.
- Closely assist the Lead Pastor in building worship experiences that support the sermons delivered throughout the year.
- Prepare and manage the worship ministries’ annual budget.
- Schedule the band and audio / visual teams through Planning Center.
- Prepare chord charts, demos, click / multitracks, and supporting tools.
- Attend staff and leadership meetings.
- Lead the volunteer worship team through regular communication and help recruit new people for worship and audio / visual teams.
- Oversee the technical aspects of worship (sound, light, media, staging).
- Be actively involved in mentoring and shaping the next generation in worship.
- Provide leadership to the Youth and Children’s Choir ministry.
- Other duties as needed.
Pastoral Duties
- Cooperate with the other pastors in providing care to members.
- Cooperate with the other pastors in carrying out administrative duties and providing leadership to ministry teams.
- Cooperate with the other pastors in executing the vision and strategy for the church and its ministries.
- Preach during the evening service 3-4 times per year.
Personal Attributes
- Personal testimony of having received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
- Evidence of leadership, musical, and ministerial ability through previous experience, responsibilities, and education.
- A heart to care for and guide people in their walk with God.
- Evidence of ability to effectively function within the ministry team.
- Ability to use relevant technology, software, and apps related to duties of both office and worship ministry.
