As a Central Scheduler you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless patient care coordination and administrative support.
Job Overview:
The Central Scheduler is responsible for getting all new patients on the schedule, communicating with the Central Verification Specialists as well as the patient about their insurance benefits ensuring the patient's demographics , insurance and referral information are accurately entered into the system. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, administrative tasks, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Duties:
- Calls all new referrals to gather demographic/insurance information as well as to get them set up for their initial evaluation.
- Greets patients in a warm, friendly manner to make them feel comfortable.
- Communicate effectively with medical professionals and support staff to streamline patient care processes.
- Provide administrative support by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation.
- Implement medical administrative support functions to enhance the efficiency of healthcare services.
- Accurately and completely builds the new patient's case in our EMR system.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all interactions.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using medical software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Strong administrative skills including phone systems management and appointment scheduling.
- Familiarity with medical receptionist duties is a plus
- Greeting patients in a professional and courteous manner
