Job Summary:
Assists the Materials Manager in managing raw material in-process and final inspection to assure compliance with company. Performs audits, verifies inventories of raw material and finished goods for all sites, and monitors stock levels and identifies purchasing needs. Tracks orders, ensures timely delivery, and communicates with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition and as ordered.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for in-process inspection audits of manufactured product.
- Performs audits of RM, BANK, WIP and/or finished goods inventories as required to verify product conforms to requirements and documents results.
- Issues stop tags on non-conforming products/materials and isolates items in Quality hold area to prevent shipment to customers.
- Advises operators, shift supervisors and Site Managers of substandard quality products in WIP and recommends corrective action on same.
- Maintains files of production WIP test data results.
- Updates internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts, etc.)
- Maintains vendor files for supplier certifications, rejected materials, and maintain updated records of invoices and contracts.
- Assists in scheduling the movement of materials from warehouse facility to other plants.
- Interact with vendors on field complaints, other quality issues, and to confirm or change orders.
- Prepares and distributes receiving reports noting discrepancies.
- Assures monthly cycle counts are conducted according to the established procedures and/or as needed and logs the results into a sheet that can be easily monitored.
- Works closely with IT to identify inventory variations
- Resolves discrepancies through investigation and proper communication.
- Controls inventory accuracy.
- Reviews daily transactions, monitors warehouse receipts reports, and updates transactions for accuracy at all sites.
- Responsible to investigate any discrepancies at any site.
- Assists in conducting monthly inventory meetings.
Secondary Duties:
- Order and maintain functional levels of all non-stock supplies and spare parts
- Prepare cost analyses
Qualifications:
Education
- Associates degree or equivalent experience
Experience
- 3-5 years
- Purchasing/inventory control or similar assistant role
Skills
- Computer literacy, including WORD, Power Point, Epicor, and Internet navigation
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail, good mathematic skills, and excellent organization skills/file management
Special Requirements
- Knowledge of products, materials, processes and customer quality requirement
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures and knowledge of market research
