How will you make an impact?
The Director, Quality position is located at one of the Protein and Cell Analysis sites including Rockford, IL, Bothell WA, or Eugene, OR. This position is the lead Quality position for the Protein and Cell Analysis Business Unit reporting to the Sr. Director, Quality Biosciences (BID) Division.
The Protein and Cell Analysis Business Unit portfolio includes a variety of regulated and non-regulated products and services including, but not limited to, Antibodies, Cell Imaging, Flow Cytometry, Immunoassays, ELISA, Protein Gel Electrophoresis, Western Blotting, Reporter Gene Assays, and more.
What will you do?
The Director, Quality manages a team of approximately 40 Quality professionals including 5 direct reports. This position works closely with the Protein and Cell Analysis (PCA) Business Unit Vice President and General Manager on critical initiatives and customer relationships. In addition, this position should have strong working and collaborative relationships with Operations, R&D, Commercial, and Customer Service.
The PCA Quality Leader provides direct oversight of the Quality Management System (ISO 13485 and ISO 9001) deployment and success.
Lead QA teams at the principal PCA sites located in Rockford, IL, Eugene, OR, Fort Collins, CO, Bothell, WA, and Bangalore, India.
Provide quality oversight and assistance to other sites supplying product to PCA including Carlsbad, CA, Vilnius (Lithuania) and Marsiling (Singapore), and others.
Serve as Quality member of Product Approval Committees for new product development projects to ensure high-quality product performance in the market.
Serve on PCA Operations Leadership team as Quality Representative and ensuring Quality is included in the Operations strategy.
Serve as an extended team member for PCA VP/GM Leadership team to represent Quality.
Serve as a conduit for the Business and Operation teams to ensure all functions understand each other’s perspectives.
Work directly with PCA customers and other functions to resolve customer concerns/complaints.
Work with Global OEM and Licensing to review Quality terms for customer contracts. Ensure the sites can meet the quality and operation terms detailed in the agreements.
Perform all job duties consistent with the 4-I values (Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement).
Ability to drive growing customer happiness through leading quality teams and overseeing, through a matrix reporting structure, the site activities impacting product quality.
Ability to handle a mix of research and regulated Quality System requirements, which extend from monitoring and acceptance of incoming raw materials through final production release.
Ability to ensure company activities and systems adhere to both company quality standards and applicable regulations.
Ability to influence and create an environment to encourage and promote adherence to Quality Assurance policies and requirements.
The role requires internal and external representation of the quality system and its requirements. This customer facing role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills in addition to attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.

Education
Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of proven experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control with similar leadership experience.
- 10-15% travel required.
