Job Description
As the Warehouse Project Specialist, you will support the Instrument Solution Center in its mission to support the North American Biosciences Division's complex instrument demonstration process. In this role you will actively participate in daily standard warehouse activities in addition to leading and completing special warehouse projects. What will you do?
- Assure warehouse compliance of EHS regulations & requirements.
- Identify warehouse space planning needs and improvements.
- Manage electronic and chemical waste in compliance with EHS standards.
- Manage warehouse organization; maintain a safe warehouse environment.
- Perform special projects to assist in organization & function of the warehouse program
- Perform weekly cycle counts and other inventory control initiatives.
- Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Sustain quality to ensure customers receive accurate product and in the time requested.
- Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are accurate and inspect incoming packages for damage.
- Unpack, label, and put inventory items into stockroom locations.
- Print postage, and ship through FedEx and ground carriers for domestic and international shipments.
- Perform shipping & receiving transactions.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, etc.), as needed.
- Monitor shipping and receiving dock.
- Develops positive relationships with internal departments, external customers, and suppliers.
- Assures compliance with customs, export, applicable foreign trade/importation laws, as well as applicable federal transport regulations.
- Flexible to learn and complete new functions as the program requires.
Keys to Success:
Education
- Associates degree required or Bachelors degree preferred
Experience
- 3 years of general warehouse experience and/or 1 years of project management experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to lead a project
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to stand and move about the warehouse for significant periods of time (involving walking, stooping, bending, and reaching) required
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Desire to work within a team, but also able to work independently and solve problems quickly
- Ability to learn to use basic internal inventory management system to fulfill orders
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs
- Knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping requirements
The salary range estimated for this position is $51,900 - $70,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
