Location/Division Specific Information
St. Louis, MO / Drug Substance Division - The Drug Substance Division is one of the five divisions that make up the Pharma Services Group. We specialize in both small and large molecule development and commercial drug substance services. This allows us to serve the needs of Small/Emerging, Mid-Sized and Large Pharma sectors globally.
A day in the Life:
- Plan, implement, and coordinate EHS Management System activities across the organization to help reduce or eliminate occupational illness and injuries, improve employee engagement, and reduce business risks and losses.
- Introduce and interpret various Federal, State, and Local recognized rules, regulations and procedures governing hazardous materials as they impact the company.
- Provide guidance to a wide range of departmental teams (Labs and Manufacturing) on the execution of site procedures in relation to EHS procedures and policies.
- Lead the site’s Hazardous Waste program and activities, and the introduction of new chemicals to the facility
- Coordinate EHS audits across the organization, and drive results around needed corrective actions.
- Key member of the sites Emergency Response Team
- Administer, document, and maintain Thermo Fisher Quality Systems conformance to regulatory requirements and company policies as well as develop and maintain training and exercises onsite
Provides EHS Team and site support:
- Participates in client audits and questionnaires related to EHS, Social Responsibility, and Sustainability
- Conducts risk assessments, incident investigations, employee training, process safety reviews, EHS training and other EHS related projects as assigned.
- Manages and assists with EHS projects in coordination with other EHS Team members and departments as necessary.
Keys to Success:
Education
- High School diploma required and 4 years of EHS experience, OR
- B.Sc. or B.A. degree preferred.
Experience
- 1 years of previous EHS experience is preferred but not required.
- 1 to 2 years of Chemical, manufacturing, or pharmaceutical work experience is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience conducting presentations/training.
- High integrity for dealing with confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
