DUTIES:
Responsible for sales and related support activities for Thermo Fisher Scientific Life Science Solutions Group, Biosciences Division, Protein & Cell Analysis products to specified academic, government or industrial accounts comprising the assigned territory: The Biomarker Discovery & Validated Assay portfolio contains innovative, high quality reagents in the area of ELISA, Luminex Multiplex, Mass Spectrometry, Gene Expression, and Cell Health.
Coordinate sales processes for assigned accounts, primarily face-to-face sales techniques for assigned geography in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans.
Comprehend and utilize product features, benefits, and applications accompanied with selling skills to identify and qualify leads, initiate the sales process and successfully promote and consummate the sales of Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.’s proprietary products and services to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan.
Provide high-level technical, specialized knowledge and sales support in the installation, optimization, and maintenance of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.’s proprietary biochemical and cell based assays, to ensure the products are functioning according to specifications and provide answers to customer inquiries concerning product and process specifications. This may include lead generation, team selling with regional sales team, moving the sales through sales cycle, facilitating communication between the customer, the regional sales team, and the business segment, and forecasting and territory analysis.
Direct two-way person-to-person interaction with customers that start and develop relationships to achieve the best possible sales representation for Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
Achieve or exceed the territory sales plan by maintaining existing business and developing incremental business in existing account.
Participate in sales, product and systems training, marketing campaigns, and special projects as presented by the Company to develop appropriate selling skills consistent with Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.’s philosophy, policies, and procedures.
Maintain and increase current customer database through Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.’s customer relations management software (Siebel CRM).
Prospect and develop relationships with new customers, and coordinate on-going customer relationships with a particular focus on up-selling and cross-selling.
Develop and execute an annual sales plan for managing assigned territory, updated quarterly.
Utilize data sources to analyze and develop sales opportunities with the greatest Return on Investment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, Life Sciences, or other related scientific discipline plus 2 years of lab experience utilizing ELISA, Multiplexing, Gene Expression assays, Mass Spec or sales experience selling into these workflows.
Must have experience or knowledge of:
Genetic analysis for pharmacogenetics research and development;
Drug discovery, including developing Screening Assays and Biomarker Discovery;
Immunoassays, Biomarker Screening Tools, Mass Spec, and/or Gene Expression; and
The life science marketplace, including the immunoassay market, its trends and our competitors.
Travel:
Roving/Telecommuting Employee: Reports to company facility in Cambridge, MA. Must be willing to travel locally up to 10% of the time, including overnight. Can work remotely or telecommute.
