The Data Analyst will integrate data from multiple data sets, analyze and interpret complex data sets and make findings relevant and actionable for both internal and external stakeholders.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for designing, implement and supporting cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructure and capabilities.
- Continuously pursues new cloud infrastructure best practices and technologies.
- Ensures cloud infrastructure is available and secure in a 24X7X365 environment. This includes but is not limited to servers, storage, telecommunications/networks, data centers, internet, email and other SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
- Continuously tests for operational integrity and effectiveness of REC Cloud and Hybrid-Cloud infrastructure.
- Awareness of the latest risk or threats to REC's cloud infrastructure environments.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or other related technical fields preferred. Five (5) years directly related experience; may substitute for degree.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supporting, designing, developing, complex business solutions and products required. Electric utility experience preferred.
Must be able to integrate data from multiple data sets, analyze and interpret complex data sets and make finding relevant and actionable for all stakeholders. Must be able to use statistical, analytical, and quantitative methods to support business process Improvements, enhance internal operational efficiencies and help solve everyday business problems. Candidate must be able to deliver effective solutions, within a team environment, functionally meeting current specifications and future requirements.
Must be able to exercise sound business judgment and operate independently and within a team environment. Must be proficient in the following areas: support REC business units with data requests, research, and statistical analysis including the use of programming languages (R, Python, SQL). Design, code and test technical analytical solutions. Evaluate different options of storing, manipulating and analyzing data. Collect detailed project requirements from business subject matter experts for each business and operational analytics project. Design, code and test technical analytical solutions. Train business subject matter experts in the use of data visualization tools. Create business intelligence dashboards, reports and other data visualization and presentment tools.
The work will be performed 100% remotely with limited IN-PERSON activities as may be required. The candidate must have sufficient athome ISP (Telecommunication, Cox, etc.) broadband infrastructure to support remote work. Specifically, a minimum broadband connection at speeds no less than 20 Mb. Will require periodic travel throughout REC's operational territory. Occasional travel for seminars and training will be required with the possibility of overnight travel.
