Job Summary
This position is located at 800 W Oakton, Arlington Heights, IL at Lutheran Home Senior Living. We have various shift options for PT. AM/LUNCH/PM.
PM is perfect for students or a 2nd job. 3:45P/4P to 7:45P. All schedules will include weekend and holidays. Cross training to our Bistro Coffee Shop will also be included.
Provide fast and courteous service of food and beverages to guests to ensure quality of food and beverage presentation per established standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner.
- Prepare food and beverages for service to residents and community guests and present food according to established health and presentation standards.
- Process dining room transactions and meal counts into the point-of-sale system.
- Clear and clean tables in a prompt and efficient manner. Clean and/or wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary.
- Perform side-work and any other opening or closing duties as required. Ensure that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout shift.
- Alert management of any service and/or safety issues. Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines to ensure total guest satisfaction.
- May assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- Basic reading and writing.
- Ability to use POS and hand held ordering technology
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with residents, guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
- Foodservice experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and or holidays.

Rate of pay is experience based on prior Food and Beverage work history. $15-$17. This is not a tipped position.
