If so, Thread, a Baltimore-based nonprofit, is searching for a committed, energized, and motivated Volunteer Recruiter to work with our fabulous team.
 

THE ROLE: The Volunteer Recruiter recruits new volunteers from and deepens relationships with Thread’s corporate and community-based partners. Through the recruitment process, the Volunteer Recruiter works to support Thread’s planned annual expansion in student, volunteers and collaborators.

What’s Thread? Thread engages academically underperforming high school students confronting significant barriers outside of the classroom by providing each one with a family of committed volunteers and increased access to community resources. We foster students’ academic advancement and personal growth into self-motivated, resilient, and responsible citizens. In addition, by weaving together students, university- and community- based volunteers, and collaborators into a new social fabric – one that transcends barriers and works to end disconnectedness – Thread is working to interrupt the cycle of poverty, crime, and lack of education to improve the odds for all of Baltimore’s young people.

Thread’s home base is located inside the TouchPoint Baltimore, a co-working space at Mondawmin Mall. TouchPoint Baltimore brings together high performing organizations with the goals of creating a workforce pipeline and scaling collective social impact by leveraging the strengths of each organization. The organizations work within a model of collaboration where sharing is paramount—sharing resources, information, access to talent, and access to networks, as well as coordinating day-to-day to be able to provide services across constituencies.
