What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel - Porter position at THREE RIVERS CASINO?
The Porter is responsible for working closely with the Hotel Front Desk Staff, Management and other departments within Three Rivers Casino Resort to provide excellent guest service upon arrival and departure, including luggage and miscellaneous needs required by guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Courteously and enthusiastically greets guests and determines their needs for prompt service.
- Escorts guests to their rooms, assists with luggage and explains features of the room such as operation of the television, safe, and how to place telephone calls from the property.
- Provides assistance with hotel room issues, referring to Hotel Management guest concerns, complaints or suggestions in a continuous effort to provide superior guest service.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues with amenities, when possible (i.e., TV’s and remotes, door locks, sliding glass doors, etc), notifying the Front Desk if follow-up is needed by IT or Maintenance.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the Hotel Lobby, furniture, and luggage carts, creating a welcoming and pleasant first guest experience.
- Cheerfully greets guests, opening vehicle and main Casino doors, and providing assistance when available.
- Delivers extra amenities upon request (i.e., rollaway bed, extra towels, coffee, etc.).
- Provides guests with information on TRCR amenities and services, and local attractions.
- Explains Players Club benefits and marketing promotions and programs to our guests at every opportunity.
- Remains current on room rates, promotions, room availability and emergency procedures.
- Informs management of guests’ special requests or needs.
- May cover and/or assist RV Park/GSAs, providing shuttle, valet and RV Park services.
- Other duties as directed by management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, Team Members may be exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, including regular exposure for those working on the casino floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and can occasionally reach a high level for short periods of time. This position is determined to have a potential for possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens. At times this position requires Team Members to work in all types of weather conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to sit, stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to carry, reach, twist, bend and squat frequently.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed.

Requirements:EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND ELIGIBILITY
- Minimum age requirement for this position is 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver license.
- Ability to drive a standard transmission preferred.
- General understanding of computer programs, including all windows applications required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.
- Comply with pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
- Receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the CTCLUSI Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Availability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays based on the needs of the department and for special casino events.
