Military OneSource (MOS) Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) is a Department of Defense program designed to assist military spouses and surviving spouses with education and career planning. SECO services are accessed and branded through the Military OneSource (MOS) program. MOS is the branded Employee Assistance Program for DoD military beneficiaries.
Certified career counselors in the MOS Spouse Career Center provide education and career counseling services to all military spouses associated with the following four Spouse Education and Career Opportunities life cycle stages: career exploration; education, training and licensing; employment readiness; and career connections.
You will be part of a large, geographically dispersed team that works closely with Serco program management team and other Serco teams to deliver quality services to our military/government customer and military spouses.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing coaching services telephonic, in-person at events as directed by the Government, and virtually through the MySECO web presence and other web-based platforms to include live chat and video coaching as directed by the Government
- Providing educational materials as coordinated with the Government
- Providing military spouses with the opportunity to work with the same career coach over time
- Providing on-line career coach-led spouse cohorts around topics related to career development
- Providing at least three types of services to include intake assessments, information and referrals, and career consultations for those Participants requiring enhanced career and education services
- Incorporating information and resources to enhance spouses’ well-being in support of their career goals
- Providing timely support to respond to military spouse needs on social media and on-line including LinkedIn, Facebook, and MySECO as directed by the Government
- Serving as the primary government source of assistance for military spouses regarding education and career development throughout the military life-cycle
- Serving as the central source of information regarding federal, state and local occupational licenses and credential requirements for military spouses in portable occupations and career fields nationwide.

Qualifications*
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Required Qualifications:
- At a minimum, a Master’s degree
- At least four (4) years of experience in education, career or employment counseling.
- A current credential issued by one of the following: the National Association for Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP), the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) or the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential).
- Must be a United States (US) Citizen.
- Must be able to work out-side of normal business hour and days to include evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NACI) (Desired – Active NACI)
- Must be able to provide proof of Education/Degree
- Must have Two (2) to Four (4) years of military program or corporate experience
- Have knowledge of the mobile military culture and lifestyle
- Military leadership experience is a plus.
- Be able to articulates understanding of basic evaluation techniques and use of customer feedback to improve overall program effectiveness/impact.
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, illustrates attention to detail, and shows evidence of being conscientious regarding deadlines.
- Have the ability to work in a collaborative environment with remotely located team members.
- Must be able to travel 25% of the time.
- Must be able to travel when required by the customer to accomplish mission goals and be able to travel to all customer sites and use all modes of transportation.
- Valid US Passport is preferred
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation to travel to assigned locations and nearby facilities is preferred and REAL ID or Gold Star is also preferred.

Preferred Qualifications: *
- Experience with General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Computer Performance Evaluation and Simulation Center (FEDSIM) Vehicle.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with a military or DoD organization(s), knowledge of military lifestyle through personal and/or professional experience - in depth understanding about the military culture and the command structure.
- Military leadership experience is a plus.
- Articulates understanding of basic evaluation techniques and use of customer feedback to improve overall program effectiveness/impact.
- Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple priorities, illustrates attention to detail, and shows evidence of being conscientious regarding deadlines.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with remotely located team members.
- Some Certifications must be obtained within six (6) months* from the date of hire.*
