Job Description: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Clothing Recycling Company

Industry: Fashion Sustainability & Waste Management

**Overview**

Thriftier.USA is a New York City based startup that focuses on a 360 approach to clothing recycling, fashion recycling, and waste management for the United States. We provide an integrated WM solution that starts the home of everyday consumers. It forges the partnership between retail, government, and consumer that bridges the gaps of sustainability and innovation when it comes to how we can lower global emissions through redistributing uses for disposed fashion, materials, and accessories.

We are seeking a new CEO Candidate for Thriftier USA that is a visionary and strategic thinker and executor. He or She is responsible for leading and scaling a clothing recycling company in its trajectory of growth. The candidate should have experience managing a company from early rounds of funding into successful Initial Public Offering (IPO). The CEO will be a stakeholding visionary driving strategic growth. This individual will also work closely with the CFO, Managing Director, Marketing stakeholders, Operations Director board of directors, investors, and the executive team to develop and execute the company’s mission of transforming how textiles are recycled and reused from the national level.

**Position Overview:**

  • The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for carrying out the vision of the company's Board, and the operational strategy of the company's growth, expansion, visibility, and relevance to the public market and government client sectors.
  • He or She should have proven experience in carrying out an intentional strategy for a seed to IPO trajectory.
  • Candidates should have a clear strategy for engaging a city-by-city regional rollout across each market of the company's expansion plan.
  • The candidate should be both practical and creative with exploring and forging necessary relationships with city government, the EPA, and the federal government as needed on behalf of the service provider .
  • The candidate should oversee the marketing team's strategy in connection with public rollout and awareness.
  • He or she should be familiar with fundraising ramp up and compliance from seed to IPO.
  • The candidate's role will oversee Brand Relations Manager responsible retailer brand relationships and wholesale sales accounts.
  • The role will also oversee Operational Manager who maintains and governs wholesale shipments, product delivery logistics, and inventorying operations during the duration of seed to IPO timeline.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Leadership & Vision**

- Set the strategic direction org matrix, aligning all efforts with long-term growth goals.

- Lead marketing arm to communicate a clear vision for sustainable textile recycling that resonates with consumers, partners, and investors.

- Participate in a corporate culture that emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and responsibility.

- Represent the company publicly, building brand awareness in industry forums, media, and investor events etc as needed.

2. **Fundraising & Financial Management**

- Lead the company through multiple funding rounds, including seed, Series A, and beyond, culminating in an IPO.

- Manage relationships with existing and potential investors, providing them with clear and transparent updates on financial performance and business milestones.

- Oversee the company’s financial performance, working with the CFO to manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability.

3. **Growth & Market Strategy**

- Develop and execute a growth strategy that captures market share in the circular fashion and recycling sectors.

- Identify and explore new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments to drive long-term value.

- Continue to position the company as an industry leader, ensuring competitive differentiation and innovative approaches to recycling.

4. **IPO Preparation & Execution**

- Lead the company’s transition from private to public, including IPO preparation and execution.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain strong corporate governance throughout the process.

- Work closely with investment bankers, lawyers, and auditors to successfully navigate the IPO process.

5. **Team Leadership**

- Build and lead an executive leadership team capable of executing the company’s vision.

- Foster a high-performance culture by attracting, retaining, and developing top talent.

6. **Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility**

- Ensure the company adheres to the highest environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.

- Promote sustainability initiatives that minimize the environmental impact of textile waste and position the company as a responsible corporate citizen.

**Key Qualifications:**

- Proven experience as a CEO or senior executive in a high-growth company, preferably within sustainability, recycling, fashion, waste management, or related industries.

- Experience leading a company from early-stage funding through IPO is highly preferred.

- Strong knowledge of the circular economy and sustainable business models.

- Demonstrated ability to fundraise and manage investor relations.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing growth and change.

**Education & Experience:**

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (MBA or other advanced degrees preferred).

- 10 years of experience in executive management, with a strong track record of success in building and growing businesses.

**Location:**

- The role will be based at the company’s headquarters, with flexibility for remote work as needed.

**Compensation:**

- Competitive salary and equity package, commensurate with experience and company growth milestones.
