Position Summary:
The Ben & Jerry’s Lead Attendant will assist Food Court management with daily operating procedures such as maintaining quality store operations, maximizing financial performance, and providing oversight and direction to Team Members in Ben & Jerry’s. The Ben & Jerry’s Lead Attendant will ensure service standards are met by providing friendly and professional service while delivering high quality food and beverage offerings. The Ben & Jerry’s Lead Attendant will follow proper food preparation techniques in accordance with Ben & Jerry’s and Thunder Valley Casino Resort practices and perform a variety of duties including scooping ice cream, handling cash, baking, and cleaning. The Ben & Jerry’s Lead Attendant will provide Guests and fellow Team Members with a friendly, upbeat presence while maintaining a clean atmosphere. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
- Set pars for daily product preparation, adjusting to match business needs.
- Set and adjust Team Member break times to match business needs.
- Submit daily orders with the use of designated computer terminals.
- Compile daily end-of-shift reports and communicate with other shift leads and Food Court management.
- Effectively communicate new product information to Team Members.
- Respond to incidental Guest concerns, issue refunds, process comps, and process voids.
- Welcome and connect with every Guest. Provide information regarding all products offered.
- Anticipate Guests’ needs and appropriately suggest additional products to enhance service and meet sales goals.
- Present a professional demeanor and demonstrate clear communication with all Guests and Team Members.
- Maintain knowledge of all products offered and ensure that all products are served to the Guests according to Thunder Valley Casino Resort and Ben & Jerry’s standards.
- Make all needed fresh baked waffle cones.
- Using proper equipment and appropriate training, follow established policies and procedures in addition to specifications for operational flow at each station.
- Follow SOPs, recipe books, and guidelines and have all necessary supplies to provide consistency and quality of service.
- Follow cash handling and register policies including processing Guest checks following established procedures and proper tendering of transactions.
- Follow established internal control procedures for obtaining banks, returning banks, and non-cash paperwork drop.
- Perform cleaning tasks in accordance with duty rosters and cleaning standards to maintain the appearance and sanitation of the restaurant service area and equipment.
- Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products. Restock all products throughout the shift as necessary.
- Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
- Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with preventative maintenance checklist.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Three (3) years of experience in a food service outlet with one (1) year of experience as a shift lead or supervisor is preferred.
- Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously while serving customers.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift twenty (20) lbs.
- Must be able to enter walk-in units with temperatures to -10 degrees.
- Must be able to bend and reach to a height of six (6) feet with or without assistance.
- Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically conducted in a food service environment which may be hot, cold, and noisy. Work will also be conducted in an area adjacent to the casino in the presence of secondhand smoke. Team Members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area. Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and Guests is standard.
