This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.
This role is located onsite at our TIAA office in Charlotte, NC, USA but will currently be remote. The anticipated term of this engagement will be 10 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.The Analyst, Investment Trade Settlements job ensures timely and accurate settlement of trade and transfer obligations for the investment function, supporting the management of capital on behalf of pensions, endowments, corporate plan sponsors, and other institutional investors. Working under limited supervision, this job performs basic processing and service activities pertinent to trade settlements.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Processes routine trade transactions, ensuring compliance with the organization's regulatory policies, procedures and standards.
- Ensures timely and accurate settlement of trade and transfer obligations in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Resolves routine trade settlement issues in a timely manner.
- Escalates complex trade settlement issues to management where appropriate.
- Interfaces with custodians, brokers and clients on confirmation and/or settlement issues.
- Performs daily reconciliations of trade activities.
- Processes trade settlement transactions in accordance with investment restrictions, laws, Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), and tax codes.

This roles will act as the intermediary between Nuveen Investment teams, Shared Service and the outsource provider - extensive knowledge of the investment processes and trade flow both internally and at outsource provider.
- Primary point of contact for the Investment team on trade related inquiries
- Primary point of contact for the outsourced provider on trade related inquiries
- Liaise with outsource provider (externally) and functional teams (internally) on daily trade flow and events that will require escalation across Nuveen.
- Triage with various groups within NGIO and Technology to resolve issues and develop remediation plans
- Manage process not supported or shared with the outsource provider key responsivities would include:
- Manage cancel/correct activity
- Trade restriction management
- New Broker Approval and Setup
- Trade Fails review and escalation
- Reporting
- Exception monitoring
- EOD/SOD completion
- Represent business requirements on new projects, strategies and asset classes. Understanding the impact to workflow internal to Nuveen and the outsource provider.
- Coordinate with IT to support new initiatives and communicate those details effectively to outsource vendor
- Developing/approving integrated test plans with outsourced provider on new initiatives
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
