What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Network Engineer position at TIAA?

TIAA has an opportunity for a Sr. Network Engineer. This role will design, deploy, and support our global network infrastructures using industry best practices. We work in a Hybrid-Flex environment (i.e., 3 days are required to work in the office and 2 days you can work virtually). Key Responsibilities and Duties Design, deploy, and support global network infrastructures utilizing industry best practices. Contribute to the development of automation solutions for various network hardware, including Cisco Data Center and User Access service offerings, F5 Load Balancers, Palo Alto Firewalls, NGINX Application Deployment Orchestration tools, and Riverbed Monitoring tools. Collaborate with other technical Infrastructure Teams, Application SMEs, and Business Information Security Officers (BISOs) on protocol risk. Lead technical implementation for large and complex Network Programs, develop documentation, and capacity plans. Deliver technical briefings, solution design sessions, and proofs-of-concept to stakeholders at all levels. Identify, research, and evaluate infrastructure strategies, hardware/software, security, and networking products. Advise management on options, risks vs. costs, benefits, and other impacts of infrastructure solutions. Set technical standards for network infrastructure, security baselines, policies, and procedures. Work with outsourcing vendors to drive sound architectures, engineering designs, and configuration templates. Participate in on-call rotation with the Engineering Team and serve as an escalation contact for service incidents. Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree Preferred Work Experience 3 Years Required; 5 Years Preferred Physical Requirements Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work Career Level 7IC Qualifications: Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting, monitoring, configuring, and implementing enterprise networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors on a large enterprise and global scale At least one (1) year experience with cloud provider (i.e., AWS, Azure or GCP) integrations Preferred Qualifications: Possess a deep understanding and experience with routing protocols (such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network protocols (such as IPv4, IPv6, NAT, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS) Knowledge of routing and switching hardware platforms architecture, forwarding, and data planes Demonstrated ability to communicate with users, technical teams, and management to collect requirements and translate them into credible, high-quality, and resilient designs based on organizational roadmaps and standards Experience with Data Center network design and engineering, multi-site architecture, spine/leaf configuration, VDCs, and edge routing Possess professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE R&S, CCIE Datacenter, CCDE, CISSP, GSEC, GIAC, or AWS Networking Specialist Experience with network automation platforms (e.g., Ansible) and scripting for network automation, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support #LI-VR1 Base Pay Range: $90,800/yr. - $151,300/yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
