Responsibilities:
Position Summary: The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for organizing and guiding the implementation and support of the new and existing information systems applications through collaboration with all modules and other hospital systems software. Assist with installing software updates and resolution of integration issues. Supports End Users in the use of all vendors Clinical and Ancillary modules. Supports physicians and their office staff in the use of all hospital information systems applications including the Enterprise Medical Record (EMR). Must be knowledgeable of hospital information systems and how they relate to each other. Strong customer relations, communications and project tracking skills are required. This person needs to have good knowledge of Joint Commission Standards. This person must be able to lead teams and oversee all aspects of implementation and upgrade projects. The position functions as a consultant to hospital staff to utilize the systems effectively to maximize productivity. A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office product is required. Assists in or performs initial training and continuing education for all system users.

Experience/Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. 1-2 years of electronic documentation experience in healthcare setting or 3-4 years of healthcare information systems or operations experience preferred.

Special Skills: 3 - 4 years experience in healthcare and Information Systems, strong knowledge of hospital practices, project and resource management skills, thorough understanding of hospital departmental operations, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills, and above average interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work as part of a team and able to understand and utilize technical resources.

Physical Requirements:
Manual dexterity needed for handling paper supplies, operating keyboards, printers, computer devices, and monitors of approximately 60 pounds. Sitting, standing at least 50% of the time. Proper lifting and bending techniques, stretching, good eye/hand coordination. Operates computer devices requiring visual acuity and manual dexterity. Average hearing to recognize alerts and tones of computer systems.
