What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chaplain position at Tidewell Hospice Inc?
The chaplain offers spiritual support in accordance with ongoing wishes and needs of the patient and family and provides spiritual counseling as needed for members of the hospice staff. The successful applicant will be able to conduct religious services of prayer, worship and rituals as appropriate. The Chaplain works within an interdisciplinary care group and other qualified professionals to evaluate a patient and family response to spiritual/ethical issues.
Applicants must be a graduate of a CHEA- or USDE-accredited seminary or school of theology and hold a Masters of Divinity or equivalent Master’s Degree in an area of religious studies. Two years of successful chaplain experience in the healthcare setting is required. Certification by a national recognized chaplaincy certification board (ACPE, APC, NACC, NAJC, NIBIC) is preferred at time of hire.
