WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Part of TIFIN, PlanIQ is a personal financial planning platform that is redefining the financial advisor and consumer financial planning experience. Our mission is to leverage technology, conversational AI, data science, and investment intelligence to guide consumers to smart decisions and actions as they navigate their most challenging financial questions and life circumstances. With our platform, financial advisors and financial services firms can deliver more engaging and personalized financial planning experiences, build deeper relationships, and expand their reach.
We are seeking a Programmer with strong R skills to join this early stage team. Focused on PlanIQ and reporting into the VP Product, you will code new and existing financial planning models into R and maintain them within the platform itself. Financial planning domain experience is not required, but passion for what we’re building will be critical to success in this role.
You must be a motivated and tenacious self-starter who is comfortable interpreting technology requirements, based on business requirements, and implementing them with maximum impact to the users. You must be results- and execution-oriented. You will be expected to develop technology in a way that minimizes technology debt while maximizing the customer experience. Your development efforts will have an immediate impact on the PlanIQ platform. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage startup at a post-product, pre-revenue stage.
THE ROLE:
- Code new financial planning models in R and convert other from excel into R
- Collaborate with our lean Product Management, Quantitative Investments, and Engineering teams
- Assist in QA testing process with requirements clarifications and questions
- Resolve bugs within existing platform calculations
- Enhance existing calculations with more robust logic and dynamic dependencies
WHO YOU ARE:
- 2 years of hands-on R development experience, ideally in a startup software product company
- Passion for data science and other programming languages like Python
- Experience of DevOps Lifecycle and related Code Repositories, such as Gitlab
- Familiarity with integrating with APIs
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or similar fields
- Experience with Agile project delivery methods, tools and concepts
- Ability to thrive in a highly demanding, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced environment
- Highly flexible, good tolerance for ambiguity, and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
- A top performer with a proactive approach who has a “doer” & problem-solver mentality
- An exceptional team player with strong communication and organizational skills
- A local presence in Denver or Boulder is preferred
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS PACKAGE:
For Colorado Applicants: The expected starting salary range for this position in Colorado is between $75,000 - $100,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. The position is also eligible for incentive compensation as well as client acquisition bonus programs.
