Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a small team of writers and art directors
- Craft work that strengthens TikTok as an exceptional creative brand
- Deliver exceptional marketing (broadcast, print, out of home, radio, digital, in-app) for the US, CA, NZ and AU, both in-house and in partnership with external agencies
- Respond to creative briefs from regional marketing team and partner functions
- Partner with key functions across the global & regional creative orgs, including designers, editors, strategists and producers
- Articulate complex ideas in a concise and effective way — both in internal presentations and with external partners
- Innovate creatively based on trends and proactive inspiration
- Reports to the Head of Brand & Creative, AMS
- 10 years work experience as a creative director or related position with a brand and/or agency
- Experience building, overseeing large 360 marketing campaigns
- Ability to lead across a broad range of aesthetics and styles (i.e. not just TikTok but other ByteDance IP)
- Must be dependable, positive, open-minded and be able to clearly communicate both verbally and visually
- Ability to inspire but also lead hands-on work
- Significant experience leading and mentoring creative talent
- Charismatic, compelling speaker and presenter for internal and external forums
- Passionate about TikTok and our mission
- Comfortable working in an experimental and extremely fast-paced environment within a complex, matrixed organization
- Good understanding of the entertainment and social landscape, grasp on culture, with a keen understanding of what is relevant, and an eye for upcoming trends
- Strong portfolio
- This position is based out of LA or NY
