Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a Press Team Lead to join our production team. The Press Team Lead report to the management team of the screen printing department. The Team Lead is responsible for set-up and leading the press team in the set-up procedure, the operation and maintenance of the automatic presses and the production of premium quality printed designs. As the Press Lead, you will stay on schedule, meet daily production quotas, inspect the quality of finished products, and maintain safe and clean stations.
The Ideal Team Lead understands shop management and workflows and is self-motivated to perform their best while accountable to company standards and approved processes. The Team Lead role requires adjustments in daily work schedules to meet production needs and a punctual and reliable attendance record.
A successful Team Lead is a problem solver effective at troubleshooting print issues, has a keen eye for detail, and understands quality control.
What is Expected From You:
- Review work orders to determine set-up specifications and special instructions
- Train new team members and operators on screen printing processes
- Assure images are registered correctly before and during production
- Follow standard operating procedures
- Set up screens and inks according to work order specifications and produce test prints for graphics approval.
- Verify the number of units; garments are arranged correctly, and verify logo placement
- Operate presses, ensuring garments are placed perfectly for even alignment of design
- Effectively lead your team by providing expectations and guidance and holding the team accountable
- Perform routine adjustments to machinery for optimum speed, registry, and print quality
- Inspect the quality of finished products ensuring quality standards
- Work directly with creative designers and other internal departments to provide flawless work.
- Perform press clean-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting on the machine.
- Count and record hourly garments completed.
- Perform end-of-day protocols equipment and stations are clean and shut down at the end of the shift
- Review new techniques regarding ink, treatments, and new products on the market.
- Aid other departments during lulls in your day.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed:
At a minimum:
- Punctual and reliable attendance. Dependable and strong work ethic
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- 1 year of experience training and leading a team of 5 or more team members
- 2 years of related experience as a Screen Press Operator for the apparel industry preferred
- 1 year of hands-on experience with Plastisol inks, primary colors, and identifying and mixing colors preferred
- 1 year of hands-on experience with the burning, cleaning, and reclaiming of screens preferred
- Hands-on experience with proven quality control
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and reliable work practices are a must.
- An enthusiastic, positive person who embraces work with a sense of urgency and persistence
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have reliable transportation
Requires the ability to:

Salary:
Training Rate: $17.00 hourly
Base Salary after Training: $37,440 - $52,000 salary based on level of experience in the industry
