Job Summary
The Material Purchasing Planner oversees the company’s needs for inventory and supplies by ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards, and are cost-efficient.
Essential Functions / General Accountabilities
· Determining material purchasing requirements and schedule (one pallet to truckload quantities)
· Monitoring the on-hand inventory level against Safety Stock
· Supporting the importing process of international supplier container deliveries
· Supporting the outbound product shipping schedule including direct deliveries from suppliers to customers
· Coordinating daily activities with the sales, customer service, receiving, operations, quality, accounting, and shipping teams.
· Coordinate with Business Development Managers (Product Pricing & Vendor Negotiations)
· Coordinate with Accounting Team (Inventory & Purchase Orders)
· Works directly with Operations & Inventory Management
· Develop strong working relationships with product suppliers
Job Qualifications
· Undergraduate Business College Degree
· 5 years of related experience in an environment with over 1,000 SKUs
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and MRP systems
· Basic understanding of financial & accounting reporting

Work Environment
· Indoor office environment with occasional exposure to warehouse
Physical Demands
· Sedentary office work that primarily involves sitting for prolonged periods of time with occasional need to walk through warehouse
· Keyboarding. Entering text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard.
· Speaking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
· Hearing Requirements. The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds. (i.e., in person speech, telephone, computer, etc.)
· Near Visual Acuity. Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., use of computers.)
