Service Technician - Refractory / Steel Industry
Position Location : Jewett, TX customer location (and likely requiring a few regular trips to El Paso for another customer)

Magnesitas Navarras SA (MAGNA REFRACTORIES) is a vertically integrated manufacturer of refractory mixes for the steel industry. To support its development, MAGNA, a division of TIMAB USA, is looking for a Service Technician in the refractory/steel industry sector.

*** As a service technician you will be responsible for the maintenance/preventative maintenance of Magna equipment at various customer mill locations. This includes being responsible for any and all call-outs that may be made by the customers. You will also be responsible for taking inventory on a weekly basis and assessing when it is appropriate to place an order. Adhering to all safety rules and developing a good working /professional relationship with the customers is also a must as this is important for maintaining our current business and developing new business in the future. Apart from covering regular accounts, you will be asked to help to help follow trials and hopefully convert them to new regular accounts. ***

Job Duties:

• Check and maintain machines (Magna equipment) at various customer locations.
• Repair machines (Magna equipment) at various customer locations.
• Visit customers requesting service and perform equipment service.
• Take inventory weekly on spare parts, products and machines and report to management.
• Assess need to place orders & place orders for equipment & supplies needed for your work.
• Develop good relationships with customers.
• Be aware of/develop opportunities for new business.
• Follow product trials with customers in attempt to convert them to regular accounts.
• Provide reports to management on accounts/customers/the market regularly as requested.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

. High School Diploma

. Mechanical and/or electrical repair & maintenance skills or technical school education in mechanics, electronics or similar field

. Familiar with steel / refractory industry operations

· Current & valid Driver's License and positive driving record

. Able & willing to travel and work in the U.S.

. Able & willing to follow all safety rules consistently

. Enjoys problem-solving and creating customer satisfaction

· Good communication skills (English)

· Proactive / takes initiative

Preferred/Not Required Qualifications:

• Previous refractory service technician work experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook & Excel

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
Our service technicians must follow all health and safety requirements at the refractory mills where they work.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Industrial Mechanic or similar work: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License & Record Acceptable by Insurance Companies (Required)
