What are the responsibilities and job description for the Y'Bar Bartender position at Timberline?
Description
The Y'bar is located next to the Wy’East Café in the Wy’East Day Lodge. Open for beverages only until the ski and snowboarding season begins. Large glass doors overlook the expansive outdoor sun deck, with sprawling views of Mt. Jefferson and the Cascade Mountain Range.
Essential Functions
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed, according to company policy.
- Ensure daily reports IDT sheets, spoilage sheets, invoices are properly filled out and routed.
- Maintain prep and par stock at adequate levels in accordance with projected business levels.
- Routinely monitor security of premises including checking perimeter doors and windows with general observation of employees, customers and the facilities.
- Clean and organize storage areas, loading dock, walk-in, coolers, freezers and bottle sorting area as needed.
- Ensure goods are properly received and stored in a timely fashion.
- Assist with cleaning and oversee work habits to ensure sanitation of bar/ restaurant areas. Maintain sanitation quality to meet Health Department standards.
- Alert Supervisor or Manager of any maintenance concerns.
- Actively participate in RLK and Company’s Health & Safety Program by identifying and reporting potential hazards, reporting incidents, and promoting a healthy workplace.
- Exercise stewardship of all RLK and Company facilities and environments, ensuring that efforts are made to reduce, reuse, and recycle when the opportunity is present.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements
- Must be service oriented.
- Must be detail oriented with ability to set and meet high customer service standards.
- Must use proper etiquette while conversing with guests.
- Must have detailed knowledge of menu offerings.
- Must be proficient in up-selling of products and services.
- Must know and follow all proper service and reservation procedures.
- Must have valid OLCC and Oregon Food Handlers permit.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be flexible and capable of bending, twisting and kneeling.
- Must be able to work in tight space with balance and poise.
- Must be able to work on feet, stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Must be able to keep up with the pace of the department demands of the position.
