Lorain County Community College’s (LCCC), Division of Health & Wellness Sciences is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure- track faculty position as Program Director of the NAACLS accredited Clinical Laboratory Science Technology (CLSC) and Phlebotomy (PHBT) Programs. LCCC is nationally recognized for its work in student success, student-centered teaching and learning, and its focus on equity.  LCCC’s CLSC and PHBT programs have excellent program outcomes, an outstanding reputation in the community, and serves an important regional healthcare need. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the CLSC Associate of Applied Science degree and the PHBT Short-Term certificate programs, as well as teaching courses within the two curriculums. The Program Director is responsible for organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the CLSC/PHBT programs. Additional duties include participation in college governance, assessment, and support of the college and program missions.

This position entails multiple priorities in a dynamic and award-winning college. The successful candidate will support the mission through participation in college governance, developing policies and procedures, participation in assessment, service to the college and community, serving as liaison to the community, participation in professional organizations, excellence in teaching, curriculum and program development, advising students, collaboration and coordination with the college and community, hiring and supervision of adjunct faculty, and managing all aspect of the program.

Required qualifications include:

  • Master’s or doctorate degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education​​​​​​ASCP-BOC or ASCPi -BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/ Medical Technologist
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience
  • Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment
  • Knowledge of current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures
  • 36 hours of documented continuing education from previous three-years

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of academic teaching experience
  • Previous Program Director experience
  • Management/Administration and/or leadership experience
