Role Overview
Time Out is looking for a National Video Editor to join its U.S. content team. This role is based out of our New York office. This person will work in tandem with the content team of every national property, this role will be responsible for rapidly expanding Time Out’s visual output.

The ideal candidate will love creating, commissioning and editing both short-form, daily videos that engage social media audiences and longer-form pieces that tell a deeper story.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategizing viral video content for all North American properties with key metrics in mind, assigning it and editing raw video footage supplied by all properties.
  • Acting as a video managing editor for all properties (i.e. making sure all video content is being delivered on time and effectively). Taking responsibility for communicating with all with city editors to plan a consistent editorial calendar.
  • Producing and editing videos across multiple platforms from short form, daily content for social media, to live broadcasts, to long-form series.
  • Devise creative treatments and executions and see them through from planning to delivery.
  • Measuring the performance of the videos you make as well as those supplied by editors, feeding back learnings through constant communication with all teams.
  • Curating videos from multiple sources to enhance existing articles.
  • Creating graphics packages and animations.
  • Managing Time Out’s video presence across multiple platforms.
  • Working with social media teams to deliver engaging and platform specific video content.
  • Keeping on top of evolving video trends in the industry and responding appropriately (and feeding back learnings to the team).
  • Maintaining Time Out’s video archive.
  • Ensuring Time Out meets its copyright obligations.

Skills and Experience

  • Ideally at least three years’ experience in a digital video production environment, or other relevant work experience, including in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven experience shooting, editing and distributing video.
  • A love of social media and experience creating video for multiple platforms.

A good understanding of video monetization strategies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional time and project management skills.
  • Able to analyze and draw conclusions from data with tools like Omniture, Adobe Analytics, etc.
  • Able to effectively manage stakeholders.
  • A track record in delivering projects on time and to brief.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite
